Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering concepts and techniques in the analysis and problem-solving in Biology, Health and Medicine. Biomedical Engineers carry out specialized technical tasks in areas of high technological impact. They develop materials, processes, implants, devices and innovative informatics approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, for the rehabilitation of patients and the improvement of health. They also act as consultants in the Health related areas.
The goal of the course is to educate professionals with skills in design, production and testing of hospital and medical instrumentation. Professionals that can do consultancy on clinical equipments and materials, professionals enabled to performe quality control, calibration, and security analysis of hospital and medical instrumentation.
Other areas are analysis of diagnosis, clinical engineering, risk analysis and security in biomedical engineering and biomaterials.
